Sugar Market (Salesfusion) vs. Act-On: The 2019 Comparison Guide

Marketing automation platforms now in 2019 are far more sophisticated than their predecessors. When advanced marketing tools first came out (about fifteen years ago), they were more like email marketing platforms than full marketing automation platforms. While it was just as important back then to select the right tool for your business as it is now, the selection process is much more difficult considering amount of options to choose from and the incredible range of features and functionalities of these options.

Marketing automation platforms in the B2B and B2C space are pushing the limits of customer interactions and lead generation. Over the past 25 years of carefully vetting our product portfolio with the best marketing automation software out there, we’ve helped a lot of companies find the perfect platform for them.

Sugar Market (formerly Salesfusion) and Act-On are by far two of the most popular products among our clients and are also some of the most advanced marketing automation platforms available. While these deceptively similar tools serve the same marketing automation purposes, they have major differences in pricing structure, range of features, and support options. Many of our clients ask us to compare these two platforms during the selection process. As such, we decided to create a comparison guide to help you get a better idea of what these platforms are all about!

A Bit About Sugar Market

Sugar Market is an excellent marketing automation platform and a company that is growing at a torrent pace. Their support team and technology experts are some of the best around – friendly, helpful, and invested in your success. The platform itself is one of the most stable and flexible platforms. Sugar Market is sometimes unfairly treated like a problem child because there’s a slight learning curve to start using it compared to WYSIWYG platforms like HubSpot or Marketo. But the reality is that it’s not a difficult platform to use if supported by the right training.

A Bit About Act-On

Act-On is very similar to Sugar Market in terms of product. It’s one of the leading marketing automation platforms on the market. Act-On has all the major feature sets you would expect from an enterprise-level platform, but with a lower price tag than more expensive enterprise-level platforms like HubSpot or Marketo. It integrates well with most major CRMs and is very customizable. While Act-On and Sugar Market products are similar, Act-On is considered to be a bit easier to use than Sugar Market according to user reviews from G2Crowd and PC Mag.

If you’d like to get a side-by-side understanding of these two platforms, download the comparison guide below to find out more!
